About the course
This instructor-led course teaches the engineering practices that help software teams build quality in from the start. It is based on Scaled Agile’s foundational Agile Software Engineering course and prepares you for the SAFe Agile Software Engineer (ASE) certification.
You learn the test-first practices of Extreme Programming (XP), Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD), how BDD creates a shared understanding across distributed teams and stakeholders, and how quality is built in throughout the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. The course also covers enterprise design principles such as SOLID, abstraction and encapsulation, and a technical infrastructure that scales across teams while staying compliant. You receive a certificate of completion, and after passing the exam the SAFe Agile Software Engineer certification, renewed yearly, and a digital badge. According to Scaled Agile, you can also earn PMI PDUs and Scrum CEUs.
